Essentials Cafe

Another taken in France in 2006. To me it seems to conjure up images of young couples having a little romance!

The great thing about this programme is that now I have an excuse to use all those shots that appealed to me when I've been travelling.

Had another go at using a coloured background (yellow).  I also used the detailed watercolour then the real round bristle brush to bring up the detail in the chair.

..............I wish I owned one of those chairs!

 

The coloured background works well, I must try that some time, I always forget about that option and plough ahead on white! This reminds me of holidays in France. As with your picture of the cottage, I wonder if a little bit more light and shade could come into this, (Just my personal feeling).

Great choice on the paper color! I do agree with Anne, though; I think a bit more indication of light and shade would help the piece. I love the composition, too, it's very romantic!

Oooh, like the house image you posted, i quite like the soft light tones used here, it really is a personal taste isnt it ? Your making good use out of the colour bg and i was doing this and will do again soon ( yep, waiting for essentials via post). A very nice image dianne.

I like the soft watery feel to this dianne. Sometimes I love punchy contrasting colours but one thing I love about watercolour if when the artist gets that superb translucency and I find this very hard to achieve digitally, but this reminds me of it.
