I found these plants deep in  the woods. The light was barely reaching them which added to the contrast and form. Ess4, oil, linen canvas, X2 to finish off

a lovely composition, did you use a macro lens here, or is it a large enough plant to shoot with a standard lens?

Hey Tolouse, Thanks for your comments on my paintings I just got my gallery up and I you are one of my favorites. I shot this one with 100mm macro using the ground to steady the camera.

ah yes the old "use the ground to steady the camera technique" I remember it well Ralph , but now I am older and wiser I drink far less than I used to lol. Seriously though, it is not till we use a macro lens, or even a long telephoto, that we realise how unsteady we can be sometimes. My pet hate with my own digital camera is not having a regular cable release, although I do have an electronic one. I find that it is difficult to hold focus when even raising a finger to press the shutter release, but if a proper old fashioned cable release was used on my flash bracket like in the analogue days, then one could start squeezing the trigger as one focussed, it just seemed easier that way. Whilst I am having a moan, it is time they designed a digital camera which can synch flash at higher shutter speeds.
