    My sister has a little native bird that visits outside her window. She sent me an email one day with numerous photos of this bird asking me what it was called. I wasn't entirely sure of what type of bird it was, so she did some investigating and found out that it is a New Holland Honeyeater and they make their nests out of spiders web.

    I said I would paint this bird for her.....So Joy here you are!  Gift

    Oh I nearly forgot to mention that I painted this in oils then created a new layer and painted again using the Van Gogh brush and erased between the layers.

    Looks like I'm getting the hang of layers  Smile

    nice composition Dianne, you seem to be getting somewhere with layers, one small point though, there is a stripe of unpainted area down the entire right hand edge of this picture, not your fault it happens with certain settings, but it would improve the image if trimmed off.

    Good spotting tolouse ! This is great dianne, and it certainly looks like youve got the hang of layers. Im glad im not the only one having trouble with names lately LOL

    Yes, I see what you mean about the line down the RH side. That setting also wanted to halo the entire way around the bird but hopefully using the eraser I toned that down a bit.  I'll do as you have suggested next time.  Thanks
